2015 - Trees by the River Exe

Acrylic Paintings

This body of work began largely as an experiment to see if I could paint from iPad sketches made in a wooded area by the River Exe.

After several unsuccessful oil paintings, I started working much smaller and in a different medium (acrylic) allowing me to work faster and more spontaneously.

This proved more fruitful, but much of the work still felt incomplete. So, the paintings were taken back to the woodland and worked on again.
