2016 - Waiting

In one of the shopping precincts in Exeter, there is a raised area where you can sit and watch the level below without being noticed too much.

These small paintings were produced from drawings made while watching the comings and goings.

Some just sat, or maybe would check their phones, while others would chat with friends or have a bite to eat. But they all seem to be waiting for something or someone.

The studio paintings took on a feel of their own, with the figures surroundings being dramatized and simplified.
